This extraordinary server has been identified as an asparagus tong or sandwich server and displays an ornate pierced upper arm. The pierced motif is surrounded by engraved interlacing acanthus scroll ornamentation. The lower arm displays the monogram, "THB" and the reverse of the handle contains the date, "1888."
