An Exclusive Opportunity to Buy Vine by TIFFANY & Co.

Indulge in the luxury of The Gilded Age!

Asparagussandwich.jpgA magnificent and unique collection of Tiffany & Co. antique sterling silver flatware in the extremely rare Vine pattern is for sale.

Created during the early 1870s while Edward C. Moore was the firm's chief designer, this Japanesque full-line pattern epitomizes Tiffany & Co's extraordinary silver design and craftsmanship. Vine pattern, also popularly known as Fruits and Flowers, reflects the Gilded Age taste for sumptuous elegance.   The nature-inspired motifs relate to the Japanese art influences of the Aesthetic Movement and anticipate the sinuous vegetation of Art Nouveau.

Likely the most extensive private collection of Tiffany & Co. Vine pattern silver in the world, it features an exceptional 306-piece service for 18 with the monogram "GT" in its original Tiffany & Co. fitted three-drawer mahogany chest, seen below.Boxset1.jpg

Also, there are 324 additional place pieces and 93 servers that are extremely rare, bringing the total of the collection to 723 pieces.  This collection, assembled during the past 35 years, contains pieces that would now be impossible to acquire on the market.  Vine's rarity accounts, also, for its remarkable appreciation in value in recent years.

Vine, one of the leading full-line Tiffany patterns in the late 19th century, appears prominently in the landmark publication: Tiffany Silver Flatware, 1845-1905; When Dining Was an Art by William P. Hood, Jr., Roslyn Berlin, and Edward Wawrynek [Suffolk, 2000]. Unless indicated (n.i.= not included) in the inventory list, all are the actual items that are described and illustrated in this reference book.
